Personal Kam was born, Kamaria Haynes, in Los Angeles California. Her mother got her involved in runway modeling at the age of thirteen, where she went on to win regional beauty pageants and modeling competitions. At such an early age it's hard for any kid to stay focused on one thing, so Kam decided to give up modeling in order to focus more on Track & Field. While still a middle school student, Kam broke the state record for the long jump and landed on the front page of the LA Times Sports section. She then went on to make state finals and compete at UCLA in the long jump, high jump, and 200m. Although Kam trained in Track & Field from the age of five to sixteen, she never lost her aspirations of pursuing a career in Hollywood. After graduating from J.F.K High School in 93', Kam went straight to California State University of Northridge to study Broadcast Journalism. Her first year proved to be a difficult one because of all the damage the college sustained from the 6.8 magnitude quake in 94'. After the quake, Kam moved out of the damaged dorms into an apartment, and continued her college studies in campus bungalows for one more year. While still a college student, Kam had begun working in music videos as a model and a casting assistant. At the young age of 19, Kam had her first son with her longtime boyfriend. The couple parted ways in 97' while her son, Armond, was still a toddler. That same year her son received the devastating diagnosis of Autism. Being a young single mother is hard enough, raising a child with Autism...inconceivable. After getting over the initial shock and confusion that comes with such a diagnosis, Kam decided to turn a negative into a positive and learn as much as she could about Autism. Fighting hard for her son to receive the best therapy, and special education services the state had to offer was just the motivation Kam needed to pursue her passion of a career in Hollywood so she could spend more time with her son and still make a good living. Kam lives by a strong belief in the motto "God doesn't give you anything you can't handle". This diagnosis has changed Kam's life and made her a stronger woman, it has also sparked a strong desire to help raise awareness of this developmental disorder that affects 1out of 100 kids in California alone. With the strong love and support from her Husband, Ricky Horne Jr., Kam implemented a diet that helped her son to communicate, and focus better socially and academically. Armond is now a very happy, normal, healthy and intelligent Fourteen year old who no longer needs Special Education Services. Armond plays the bass guitar now, and has an amazing ability to read music and play new instruments by ear. Kam's full story is one of determination, perseverance, defiance, struggles, but most of all love...a story that she may share with the world in the near future.
In April, 2007 Kam wed the love of her life, Ricky Horne Jr. on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. A year later she gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy...Boston Reign Horne. While Kam contributes her quick "baby" weight loss to an athletic background, her discipline stems from extensive Martial Arts training. Kam trained for two and a half years in Tae Kwon Do, and Hapkido and was promoted to Green Belt in 2005. In April of 2009, Kam began hiking with a group of friends to stay in shape and contributes her new found habit of weekly workouts and eating healthier to the Valleywood Fit Girls Club.
